Barks and Mulches
Cane Bales

Cane Bales: This is a sugar cane mulch that is packaged like a traditional “bale of hay”. Is a coarse cut material and is used extensively in “no dig gardens”. 3 bales will cover 10-12m2 at a depth of 100mm.
Forest Mulch

Forest Mulch: A green waste based material that is used widely in council parklands and streetscapes. A budget priced material that is ideally used when you have large gardens to do on a budget. It will break down adding organic carbon to the soil zone.
Hoop 1”

Hoop 1”: Probably the most popular mulch in the trade and retail sectors. Is curly in nature, which makes it ideal for sloped gardens. Also contains “fines” which break down leaving the coarse material to act as the mulch layer. Chocolate in colour (soil like) it gives a good back drop to the greenery of your plants.
Hoop 2”

Hoop 2”: A heavier version of Hoop this material tends to be better suited for large areas and is ideal on sloe gardens. Used predominantly in road side applications.
NuGrow Fines

NuGrow Fines: This mulch is produced in house at our Swanbank facility and was designed to fill a gap in the market. A screened material that is comparable in looks to Tea Tree and Cypress Mulch. It will break down into your soil and is very popular with tried and true gardeners.
Red Cypress Blend

Red Cypress Blend: Rustic Brown in appearance with a mix of Cypress Woodchip that will retain moisture, reducing water requirements for your garden. It has a fresh Cypress fragrance and is easy to spread. All Cypress Based materials have a natural resistance to termites.
Red Cypress Mulch

Red Cypress Mulch: Reddy brown tones and 100% pure mulch. Can be dusty so the best advice is to use a dust mask when spreading. Like all cypress based materials it has a natural resistance to white ants and is very attractive once it is applied.
Slash 1”

Slash 1”: Originating from the slash bark tree this mulch is tried and true over the last 30 years. 25mm or 1” pieces of bark that are reddy brown in colour and flat in nature. So if you would like a fresh look that will enhance your plants slash 1” is for you.
Tea Tree Mulch

Tea Tree Mulch: Fibrous mulch that has a forest like fragrance. A fresh and distinct looking mulch that will retain the moisture very well as it has different particle sizing with in its profile that aids the retention of moisture.
Takura Soft Fall

Takura Soft Fall: NuGrow are pleased to be the Brisbane Distributors for Takura Softfall. This material is a fully certified soft fall (copy available on request) that is becoming more popular with councils. The main difference with traditional soft fall is that Takura soft fall does not “dirty” up anywhere near as bad and will hold its colour over time.
